The increase of searches on mobile devices is higher than ever. According to Google 60% of all searches now originate from mobile.

Google have identified that over 60% of all searches are now originating from mobile devices. With an incredible 57% of mobile customers leaving any website if they have to wait just 3 seconds for a page to load. This highlights the importance for all brands big or small to be mobile friendly and mobile responsive.

Google have made a huge change to the way which search results are displayed by adding mobile friendliness as a key factor in search rankings. From April 21st, 2015 Google deployed this change which is expected to have an impact bigger than the previous two algorithm updates Panda and Penguin, which affected 12% and over 3% of search results respectively. with consumer habits changing and the demand for information on the go becoming more important for consumers it puts pressure on those brands who fail to meet this basic consumer need.

It is perhaps quite suprising that well known brands such as Marks and Spencer failed the mobile friendly test and as such will already be feeling the wrath of Google's latest update.

Is your website mobile ready? Take the Mobile-Friendly test today to see if you pass or fail! Whether you have passed or failed there are always ways to further optimise brands experience on mobile and DotLabel would love to hear from you to assist in the project!
